Our friends in Uzbekistan could not resist to wait until tomorrow to call us: the news was too good!
Today, as expected, entered the cave Dark Star. And they found the terminal siphon opened!
Immediately began the unexpected explorations which have stopped on a shaft estimated about 30 meters depth.
Obviously this discovery changed all the plans that had been made and so tomorrow will be back in this cave to continue to explore.

Fresh News from Baisun Tau. Thanks to the satellite phone Intermatica our friends have called telling that things are going very well, also thanks to the unexpected presence of water on the plateau, that last year instead was absolutely dry.
They then moved a field just above the cave Ulugh Begh, an exhausting ride on the crest, but now even the re-exploration of this cave, one of the entrances at high altitude over the world, is only a matter of days.

La venta with the BBC to describe "The Dark"

It was presented last Sunday, the new BBC series "The Dark". After Planet Earth, Living Planet and Human Planet the British television, famous for its spectacular documentaries, has launched this year in the challenge of documenting life in the dark.
La Venta has had the great opportunity to share with the troupe directed by Will Ridgeon the exploration of a cave in the Venezuelan Tepui, together with biologist George Mc Gavin.

Samarkand 2012 first news

It started on August 3 the expedition Samarkand in 2012 organized by the Russian group of Ekaterineburg. Also this year, with the support of La Venta, are involved two Italians, Stefano Guarniero and Giuseppe Spitaleri and our Spanish friend Cecilio Lopez Tercero.
Thanks to satellite phone Intermatica saturday we got a first communication in which the three advise us of the progress.
After some little problems with permissions in the village of Boysun, amazingly solved in a single day, have quickly moved up to "Field 1" at 2750 meters altitude.
