I Colori del buio è un viaggio attraverso i più importanti progetti di ricerca del gruppo La Venta, che utilizza risorse umane e tecniche maturate in due decenni di spedizioni in contesti straordinari, tra foreste pluviali, ghiacciai, montagne, deserti e intricati labirinti sotterranei.

The other day the Italians and Cecilio should be returned to Boysun and will return to Italy today.
Thanks to satellite phone Intermatica have told us that the Russians will continue a few more days exploration, but certainly all three caves are literally "exploded" and then there will be for the coming years.
Dark Star: the topography has reached -580, explorations over -600. They are following a river with waterproof overalls, waterfalls of 30 meters and other amenities which only the Russians are capable. At the head of the canyons there are labyrinthic and complex areas, the not topographed is of kilometers. It is surely the most important cave in the area.
In the last days the explorations in Dark Star continued to the great. The main road continues crossed by an important stream up to -500 and then branches into a maze of parallel conduits. A team of russians, assisted by the Italians, has faced an internal camp to make the topography of the new zone. Yesterday finally took place the last entry in the cave: Beppe and Stefano (Giusto), have explored some of the branches parallel to the main, while Vadim and Vania continued to descent pits reaching a zone of lakes at about -600. The cave continues, but will require the russian waterproof suits to overcome some steps with deep water in the canyons.
But now there is air of departure, the italians should enjoy a day of "almost" rest tomorrow (visit to the Holy Cave) and then start the long descent towards the valley saturday.
IOn 10th August we presented in the Casa de Cultura of Cintalapa, in Chiapas, the book "Cueva del Rio la Venta, a subterranean dream".
We had already done in March in Rome, during the exhibition "The Colors of the Dark", staged at the Vittoriano. Now, finally, in the place where the cave opens.
In front of a large public I have summed up in words and pictures 30 years of stories and explorations which in various ways we were involved in the lands of Chiapas.
Then a short video, edited by Riccardo De Luca, that showed some moments of caving courses made to local youth and a sequence of images of the new book.

Thanks to Intermatica, a new call from Uzbekistan. Yesterday was a day of "rest", which translated from russian means doing sampling in the cave of Tunnelnaja! Today, however...
Two teams entered into Dark Star: the first, which included our friends, explored a side branch and is currently stopped on some pits, while the russian team has dropped the pit of 30 meters, found two days ago after the siphon unexpectedly opened, and found a large meander that ends in a huge hall. It all on a new watercourse that seems to be a real river. Currently this team is stopped on a new pit estimated about 50 meters and reached a depth of -450!
Another group of people entered the cave of Ulugh Begh down from the "Descent of Nadia" and found the meander with the frozen river and a narrow passage completely blocked by ice. The day is spent in the opening of a passage, so tomorrow will enter to explore.
Finally, another Russian team entered the cave Festivalnaja also carrying on explorations and, like the others, stopping on yet another pit.
So the problem now is that the ropes are almost finished and will need to focus on one, maximum two, objectives, the work that will follow. Probably the choice will be Ulugh Begh and Dark Star.
Amazing that these are the problems in an expedition so hard and extreme. The ropes ends, the desire to explore not...
