The cave divers immediately moved to the west side of the selva El Ocote to start exploring the siphon of the "Chute Redondo," a huge resurgence explored in the 90s.
The group that goes into the forest to try to reach the "monstrous" sotano Chiccivà (whogoesthere), name what ever guessed given for the difficulties to get there, is moving.
And tomorrow morning the last group starts to get to the resurgence of Los Bordos, which was also explored in the 90's but only in the active part. Already last year, a camp of a few days showed high fossil branches. We hope in this expedition to end the topography and see if there are other possibilities.
Today, thanks to the Chiapas Civil Protection, we did a helicopter overflight of the entire canyon looking for entrances on the walls. The splendor of the canyon seen from above is always magical. Especially when you pass near the tunnel (the Arc of Time). The return route took us on the northernmost sector of the Selva where have been identified new access to the underground including a huge input that will probably be one of the objectives of the second part of the expedition.
Meanwhile, in order not to lose time here Cintalapa we climbed the Arbol de Navidad. Too bad that it is just an inelegant residue of Christmas that will survive to the Easter! It will not be true Arbol, a few hundred meters high, but it is definitely more mentally tough!!!
