On our way back to Rome we can not do without thinking about what we leave behind. In fact, as often happens, the last two days of the expedition were full of surprises and left us much to think about for the next year. After a few days, during which the team in Pinlaung has been engaged in recognitions that led to minor results, we decided to go back to an old local reporting: sink hole Hti Ngut.
The cavity opens at an altitude of 1600 meters and has a purely vertical development. In two days were positioned 200 meters of rope down to a depth of -156 meters; finished rope and batteries we stop on a shaft to go down. Hti Ngut may exceed the maximum depth reached in Myanmar which is -165 meters. The expedition ended with 2.5 km of new cave detected.
