A very bad news comes to us from Chiapas. Lucas Ruiz, a Mexican friend and associate, passed away two days ago. Many already knew him. Not only those who participated at expeditions in the colonies in the area of the Rio La Venta or in the altos of Bochil. Even many cavers, in some moments of aggregation, have seen and heard Lucas to tell of the wonders of the rain forest and caves that hides. Or that were with him in cave here in Italy in the periods in which he lived in Magliano Sabina. I want to use the words of Gianni Todini, more than a brother to Lucas, to say goodbye to him: "I lost a brother. I'm crying but at the same time I'm glad of the opportunity that life has given me to live for fifteen years the wonderful explorations with Lucas. Explorations that have led us deep into the meanders of the soul and that made me rediscover the power of life.". And at this time our thoughts turn to Juana, his wife, and three children, Gianni, Vicente and Luciana. We'll soon be in Mexico and we will try to bring them a bit of cosolation and a help to live.
